The services company Halliburton presented in October, at OTC Brasil 2019 (Offshore Technology Conference) the work entitled “Decreasing Well Construction Costs for Mature Fields in the Recôncavo Basin” (Reducing well construction costs for mature fields in the Recôncavo Basin) .
This work reports important gains in efficiency and cost controls for drilling wells, which allows the search for production increases in mature fields, enabling projects that would only be possible with these levels of cost and efficiency.
After more than three years without drilling activity in the Recôncavo Basin, this integrated service model was implemented with a different working methodology to optimize the construction of wells. Instead of many technical representatives for each specialty, as carried out in previous projects in the area, an integrated service coordinator was designated as a single point of contact for the operator to improve communication, document lessons, support logistics, monitor daily Project KPI, reports, operational meetings and field support in critical operations.
The savings achieved are the result of a collective effort involving teams of reservoirs, materials, drilling and other areas. It is through processes with a consistent and persistent search for efficiency and productivity, and also through a deep study of lessons learned that continuous improvement is achieved in order to achieve the desired business objectives.
In 2019, for the first time the companies shared these gains with other independent operators in the Basin, which used the joint services of PetroReconcavo and Halliburton in their drilling.
