The program recently gained new activities aimed at stimulating regional development and national competitiveness and has the support of institutions ABPIP (Brazilian Association of Independent Petroleum Producers), ANP (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels), EPE (Empresa de Energy Research), IBAMA, Ministry of Economy and ONIP (National Organization of the Petroleum Industry).

At the launch of REATE 2020, authorities, civil entities and industry professionals listed priorities associated with the development of the onshore industry, with work fronts being created and divided as follows:

Front 1 – Innovation and Regulation;
Front 2 – Institutionalization of Industry and Multiplication of Companies. and O&G and Goods and Services;
Front 3 – Onshore Oil and Gas Potential;
Front 4 – Promotion of Free Competition.

For PetroReconcavo’s Quality and Regulation manager, João Vitor Moreira, who is part of one of REATE’s working groups, the initiative is an excellent opportunity for public and private entities to discuss the modernization of the onshore oil and gas sector.

“Among the main points discussed, we understand that the modernization of the existing regulation for onshore production, whether in the aspect of production measurement, management of facilities, pipelines and wells integrity, is essential for operations in mature fields to be viable for longer . In addition, we have observed an excellent effort to make the New Gas Market viable. In order for this initiative to also reach mature terrestrial fields, a wide discussion about the opening and use of existing natural gas infrastructure in Brazil is necessary through small and medium-sized private companies, enabling the production of these fields to quickly reach demand points. In that sense, we are certain that REATE is an excellent opportunity for us to have a rejuvenated onshore industry in the coming years ”.
